I am supporting U.S. Sen. Dan S. Sullivan for reelection and I encourage you to do the same. Please take a good look at his record. Make up your own mind. And remember to vote.
I have attended several of his local town hall meetings and found him conscientious, committed and credible. He answered my direct questions confidently and offered practical solutions.
When he did not know the answer, he said, “I’m not familiar with that issue, but I’ll look into it.” He followed through and emailed me with a response. Who does that?
Mary Peltola avoided my questions and referred them to her campaign manager, who she later fired.
I happened to sit next to his wife, Julie Sullivan, and found her engaging and kind. A supportive spouse matters to me. Many people may not know that she is an Alaska Native and that they have three wonderful Alaska Native daughters who have been raised in Alaska.
Julie met Dan in Washington, D.C., when she was working in Sen. Ted Stevens’ office and “Uncle Ted” introduced them. They were married in Fairbanks, her hometown, and he has truly become an Alaskan. Who can say they didn’t come from another place? I appreciate him always putting Alaska first.
He is a 30-year military man, an ex-Marine. I am very favorable to a military background.
He supports the current administration, and while I may not like Trump’s persona, our business and our livelihood has improved drastically since he was elected. Have I looked at his record of supporting Alaskans? Yes. I always fact-check.
Instead of relying on sound-bites or reading endless campaign flyers, take a good look at Sullivan’s record in the Senate.
Sixty bills passed supporting Alaskans, strengthening our economy, creating jobs and working toward a more self-sustaining Alaska. The Alaska LNG project is a very big deal.
Fisheries, oil and gas, Alaska Native communities, veterans, small businesses, shipbuilding and road construction, mental health, fighting illegal drugs, supporting abused survivors, health care, the U.S. Coast Guard, the environment and our military — the list of areas where Sen. Dan. S. Sullivan has worked to support Alaska seems endless.
You don’t have to agree with a politician on every issue to recognize the importance of examining their record and the work they do for Alaska.
